Our journey with Olde English Bulldogges is one of love, dedication, and family. None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of my husband, Matt. Together, we’re raising three wonderful, energetic daughters who share our deep love for animals. They play an important role in caring for our dogs and puppies, and their bond with our furry family members warms my heart every day.
Recently, we made an exciting move from Wisconsin to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where we’re settling into our new home and embracing this fresh chapter of life.

We are an extremely active family and are always on the go. Our dogs are part of our family so most of our activities include them as well. We love to go on camping, fishing, boating, swimming, and on hikes in the summer. In the winter, the dogs like to tag along on ice fishing trips and love to play in the snow.

Our family's obsession with the breed started 13 years ago when we brought home our first Olde English Bulldogge, Bella. Because OEB's are like chips and you can never have just one, we soon brought home another pretty girl and named her Lola.

"A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself."

The possibilities feel limitless as we continue building on the success of Gemstone Bulldogges, and every step forward feels like an exciting new chapter.

When we first brought Bella and Lola into our lives, they were simply adorable puppies. Back then, we didn’t understand the importance of responsible breeding or how to recognize backyard breeders. Both Bella and Lola faced significant health challenges that deeply affected their quality of life and led to their untimely passing.
Although Bella and Lola are no longer with us, their stories remain the heart of our journey. Their legacy inspires everything we do. Our goal is to breed happy, healthy dogs that honor the love and lessons they brought into our lives. This is why we breed. This is our "why."

I'm the breeder behind Gemstone Bulldogges located in Sioux Falls, SD. We raise confident, well-socialized Olde English Bulldogges in our home and offer lifetime support to every puppy family. From health-tested parents to early training and enrichment, we’re committed and dedicated to setting each puppy up for success and staying part of their journey for life.
We run our program differently than most.
Puppies usually go home at 8 weeks old, but not here.
First off we have an application process - main goal of that is to make sure both the applicant and I have positive vibes about each other.
Secondly, our puppies attended a 4 week program from 8-12 weeks. From birth to 12 weeks our focus with them is opening up the frontal lobe of their brain for optimal health and wellness going forward. We work on exposing puppies to all things sounds noises textures desensitizing them for being any kind of skittish, especially around little kids. We work on certain exercises that teach them how to turn with their waist and not their knees. So later in life we can try and avoid ACL tears as that's so prevalent in this breed.... There is also basic training and obedience training but there is so much, much more.
Our puppies go home. 99% potty trained kennel trained. They're taught not to bark not to jump, not to nip.
While they are at the training program, our trainer, Charity, is in contact with the family the entire time. Keeping you up to date on what they are doing and how their progress is going and after the puppy goes home, she also gives you lifetime guidance and advice if needed. I know my program isn't for everyone. Some people don't want to wait 12 weeks to get their puppies but that's the way we feel is best. A puppy's first fear phase is from about 7 to 12 weeks. So as we expose them to different things carefully during that time, it really helps them on go home day, gives them a better chance of success and critical thinking. There are things we do to help boost their immune systems, building a strong immune system when your little is important when your older!
Lastly, I start ENS training (Early neurological stimulation) starting at day 3 and shortly after ESI (Early scent introduction)
It's really important to open up the frontal lobe of their brain as early as possible, it helps so much down the line with training and obedience.
Like I said we like to set the family up with complete success as we know that puppies are a lot of work and families can be busy... That being said, the puppies go home with all three of their puppy boosters and their rabies tag, also with the puppies health in mind.
We do require a vet visit but after that your dog won't need shots for another year. Additionally, we also microchip your puppy, he or she goes home with a health certificate from our vet, a free month of pet insurance, toys, treats, littermate blanket for comfort and a bag of their current food.
Olde English bulldogs are protective, smart, funny companions. Grooming is super minimal and makes a wonderful family pet.
All 3 of my kids learned to stand with my dogs. They are so loving and caring!
One more helping thing is, at 4 weeks old I pull in my animal behaviorist and we evaluate each puppy. We can select which puppy we think would be the best fit for your home, per your application. At this time we also will evaluate to see if there is a puppy in the group suited for service dog training.
I hope that gives you some insight about our program!
We definitely aren't perfect but we sure do our best to try and do good for the breed and their future families. Dogs are family too!!
